- Collaborate with tax preparers to gather necessary information and resolve any inquiries or issues that may arise during the review process.
- Lead tax compliance engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and guidelines, ensuring that all reviews are conducted in accordance with the latest requirements.
- Work directly with management and clients to build and maintain relationships
- Develop and implement review procedures, checklists, and tools to streamline the review process and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of review findings, recommendations, and actions taken, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Communicate proactively and timely with clients and team members regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other matters
The SALT Manager is responsible for advising clients of the tax implications relating to their business objectives, recommending alternate courses of action, as well as identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations. In this role, the SALT Manager will network within his/her area of experience and specialization in recognizing potential changes in tax policy and applying those policies to tax compliance. The SALT Manager will work with the Regional Tax Partners and Senior Managers to provide SALT expertise to their clients.
- Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and manage to budget.
- Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex income tax returns including Corporate, S-Corp., partnership, and individual clients.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
- Consult, work with, and service client to make recommendations on business and process improvement and serve as a business adviser to client.

- Coordinate assignments with Reading and Spring House office locations when necessary
- Keep supervisors informed of progress, and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Proactively interact with clients to gather information, resolve problems, make recommendations
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides clients with support in understanding and implementing finance technology solutions
- Maintains a working knowledge of business process optimization, process design, and process re-engineering
- Serves a leadership role on client work as technical knowledge and experience grows
- Executes client engagement activities in all phases of the project life cycle from start to end
- Considered to be a “go to person” in the department due to niche skills and abilities
- Resolves all problems before submission for final partner review
- Proactively interacts with clients to gather information, resolve problems, make recommendations, and build lasting relationships with clients
- Mentors, trains, and supervises performance of lower level staff in the department
- Makes recommendations to existing clients on how we may offer services in new ways.
- Ensure that the firm production standards are met by self and others.
- Responsible for managing engagement efficiencies (realization, production, WIP, A/R, expenses, etc.).
- Identify and execute best practices for the firm to ensure sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related finance degree required; Master's degree desired
- Certified Public Accountant preferred
- 10+ years of current or recent experience in public accounting or other industry working as a Controller / CFO
- Minimum of 5 years experience within an advisory or consulting environment focusing on financial services
- Knowledge of accounting software packages and ability to adapt/learn to different accounting software technology
- Successful at fostering strong relations built on trust and credibility
- Adept at meeting challenging client requirements and deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Detail focused and driven to achieve high standards
- Strong general business acumen
- Ability to travel 40-50%
